Modesto Junior College

Success Specialist

Hello, my name is Crystal Hinchman and I am one of many Student Success Specialist here at Modesto Junior College!

My goal is to empower you to achieve greater academic success whether you are at the beginning of your career or nearing completion. I typically assist students with:

  • Navigating the college campus
  • Activating PiratesNet, Student e-mail and Canvas
  • Developing time and life management skills
  • Assist to confirm all CORE steps for priority registration are completed. The CORE steps include: Orientation, Assessment and Educational Planning.
  • Connecting students to programs, services and resources on and off campus
  • Applying for graduation and more

I tailor each student interaction to ensure you stay on track as you reach your goals.

If you find yourself struggling in a class, please reach out to me and I will connect you with the appropriate resources. In addition, instructors and counselors often refer students to me. If your instructor asks you to meet with a Student Success Specialist, please contact me.

As an online student, services provided Monday – Friday; 8 am to 5 pm may not be conducive to your schedule.

We now have Pathway Centers located on the East Campus in the Student Services Building Room 128 and West Campus in Yosemite Hall 125 to serve you Monday – Thursday 8 am to 7 pm. In the Pathway Centers you can meet with a Student Success Specialist and/or a Counselor.

I look forward to meeting you!
